Downtown Westerly is so proud of its craft beer culture that it’s celebrating with a 10-day week! The second annual event is taking place from June 7-16 at 84 Aleworks, Flip Side Pinball Bar, the Malted Barley, and the Grey Sail Taproom; the sponsoring breweries are Grey Sail [Westerly], Shaidzon, and Revival, and a trio of just-over-the-border Connecticut beerists: Cottrell [Pawcatuck], Beer’d [Stonington], and Outer Light Brewing [Groton].
All of the venues will be featuring the sponsoring breweries. Patrons can score a limited release beer week T-shirt by buying beers and filling out a passport, getting one stamp for each venue and one stamp for each brewery –10 stamps/beers over 10 days. PS Did I mention a beer festival in the planning stages for Bristol, RI in June, 2020?
Long way off, but it sounds interesting – the ‘theme’ is 13 Colonies, with breweries from all 13 original colonies invited, at the Mt. Hope Farm in Bristol. Good timing for our Twelve Guns brewery, who is about to open the first brewery ever, in Bristol.
It’s also a benefit for the paralyzed veteran organization.
